Title: Jāmiʿ-i ʿAbbāsīTitle: جامع عباسیThere is a seal on f1r, which is mostly illegible except for the word "Khān". Through comparison with the same seal on MS RSPA 19, Jones's copy of Tuḥfat al-Muʾminūn, the seal reads "Aẓḥar Khān Sayyid ʿAlī 1201" above which, on both manuscripts, is written "al-Malik wa-l-Qābiḍ".

Good condition. Supports and guards. Several large smudges.

Persian is written in a small and clear nastaʿlīq. Arabic is written in a similarly clear naskh script.
Decoration
Additions:Marginal comments are infrequent but present in a range of hands.
After the colophon, there are two folios which are covered in a range of marginal notes by at least two different hands in a mixture of Arabic and Persian about varied topics.
Binding
Standard India Office half leather binding with wine-coloured marbled endpapers.

Origin: IndiaProvenance and Acquisition
RSPA 1-118 were presented to the Royal Society in January 1792 by Sir William and Lady Jones. According to Wilkins, this manuscript was presented by Lady Jones.
The Royal Society's collection of 280 Persian and Arabic, and 86 Sanskrit manuscripts were transferred to the India Office Library in 1876.
