Severely injured fragment of an unidentified romance or dāstān revolving around the adventures of Prince Mihr and others, set in pre-Islamic antiquity, mentioning the tomb of the Prophet Ādam in Sarandīp (Sri Lanka) and the Prophet Sulaymān (Solomon), but also characters from Firang (Europe), by an unidentified author.
Defective at the beginning and end, with large sections of text missing due to wormholes.
Not dated at end. Datable to the late eighteenth century.
Intermittently foliated.
Distinct nastaʿlīq.
The work has been checked and corrected.
Lacking original covers.
Paper dust wrapper (BEIC legal publication on regulations for tobacco and ganza, published Calcutta 1852, Bengal Military Orphan Press, by F. Carbery); watermarked (lion rampant guardant holding sceptre in crowned oval frame; T H Saunders & Co, 1850); label, torn and stained.
