1 copy of Būstān by Tamīz al-Dīn ibn Muḥammad Yāvar
Autograph copy of a lexicon or farhang and commentary or sharḥ by Mawlavī Tamīz al-Dīn ibn Muḥammad Yāvar appended in margins around the bi-columnar arrangement of the mas̲navī, the Būstān of Shaykh Saʿdī Shīrāzī.
This copy, begun in Ramaz̤ān 1238/May 1823, was intended for lithography.
Dated colophon (f. 115r): completed probably in the hand of the author (Tamīz al-Dīn ibn Muḥammad Yāvar), for the Maṭbaʿ Aysiyātik Līthūgrāfik Kanpī (sic, Asiatic Lithographic Company), dār al-ḥukūmat Calcutta, 1244/1828.
Minute scribal nastaʿlīq, arranged in three vertical columns and a lower panel, two vertical columns for the Būstān, the third vertical column and the lower panel reserved for the lexicon and commentary.
Verses counted in accordance with the chapters or bāb.
Paginated in Persian, with stamped foliation.
Original covers lost.
Only front board remaining from later tooled leather covers (board delaminating revealing Kaithi accounts).
