Summary of Contents: An account of the spiritual experiences of a darvīsh during his progress along the Sufi path, by the famous Sufi mystic and writer Shaykh Aḥmad Sirhindī (d. 1624).

Explicit: مثل این مثل احکام شرعیه است که بعد از نسخ و تبدیل احکام متناقضه می نماید و چون اختلاف اوقات و اوضاع را ملاحظه نموده می شود آن تناقش مرتفع می گردد. و لله سبحانه حکم و مصالح فی ذلک فلاتکن من الممترین و صلی الله تعالی علی سیدنا محمد و اله و سلم و بارک.

Colophon: Completed on 5 Jamadī al-avval regnal year 10 of Muḥammad Shāh, 1141 AH (7 December 1728) by Shukr Allāh Sirhindī.

A note added after the colophon gives the date of completion of the work as 1019 AH (1610 CE), and names the compiler asMuḥammad al-Ṣiddīq al-Badakhshī al-Kishmī, known as Hidāyat.

Summary of Contents: A polemical treatise in Arabic, by Shaykh Aḥmad Sirhindī, here named Aḥmad ibn ʻAbd al-Aḥad ibn Zayn al-ʻĀbidīn, written to counter the weakening of Islam through translation of texts into Persian and the increasing influence of Hindu philosophy and writings.

Summary of Contents: A miscellany of essays of various length, covering many aspects of Sufism, with definitions of Sufi terms and questions of doctrine, by Shaykh Aḥmad Sirhindī. The book is divided into 41 sections calledmaʻrifat. It contains arguments pleading for the supremacy of the Naqshbandī ṭarīqah" over others and concludes with apologetics directed against adversaries of the prophet Muḥammad and his religion.

Explicit: سخنی چند از سخنان فاسده او درین رساله آورده تا مردم بر شناعت کار او مطلع شوند و به تقلید در زمره اهل الحاد نه درآیند و اگر با وجود آن راه تقلید آن جماعت را پیش گیرند حجت بر اینها تمام شده باشد. الحمد لله سبحانه اولا و آخرا و الخ.
