Provenance and Acquisition
Sale of Phillips, Son and Neale: April 1965; false seal of (Sir) Robert Palk Fakhruddawla; name on flyleaf of marked paper of W.H. Davy (translator (?) of the Institutes of Timour 1784?) and description “History of Alumgyry Aurungzebe” in pencil in his or a similar late 18th century hand and a note in Persian of an earlier Hindu owner recording its purchase for his young son (?) at Allahabad for 7 rupees 8 annas.
