A copy of the Qurʼān copied in Egypt in 1281 AH/1864 CE.
A complete copy. Unusually, as it is often spoken but rarely written, the word آمين 'Amen' has been added at the end of Sūrat al-Fātiḥah.
Inserted card headed 'Blanchard's Egyptian Museum, Sharia Kamel, Cairo, Egypt', containing a rough transliteration of the colophon.

Layout
One column throughout. Fols. 2b and 3a have seven lines of text each per page; otherwise fifteen lines per page. 112 × 70 mm.
Hand(s)
Script: Small Naskh in black ink. Chapter headings in white. Text is fully pointed. Recitation rules in red ink. Each juzʾ is marked with a different flowerburst and foliate design. Scribe: ʻAlī al-Naqshī
Decoration
Folios 2b and 3a decorated in gold and other colours with floral and foliate designs in blue, green, gold, red, and pink. Verse endings are marked with gold roundels. Text boxes are in gold with red outlines.
Binding
Eastern binding in reddish-brown leather over boards with gold borders and a central floral spray. Doublures have blue pastedowns. Envelope flap.
