The title-page is fully illuminated, in blue and gold, polychrome sprays of flowers, and interlaced ornaments in vermilion. Headings of formal ornament occur at the beginning of every chapter of the Khamsah.
There are 42 paintings in different hands.
The same seal occurs on many folios of the manuscript. A reading supplied by B.W.Robinsonis "The slave Ali-Husayni".

Given by Mrs Reynolds, daughter of J.H. Middleton, as is bequeathed by her father, January 1969.
