MS 1632 (Arabic Commentaries on the Hippocratic Aphorisms project)
Arabic Commentaries on the Hippocratic Aphorisms project collection
Original manuscript in Süleymaniye Mosque.
This is a lemmatically arranged commentary. The introduction begins on f. 2b; the beginning of each Book is as follows: Bk1: 3b; Bk 2: 18a; Bk 3: 32b; Bk 4: 43a; Bk 5: 63b; Bk 6: 80b; Bk 7: 91a.
One column with 21 lines per page. The first hand rubricated the beginning of each lemma and the beginning of each commentary.
The text is written in naskh. Ff. 67b-68a are written by another hand; the paper, ink, pen nib, all change dramatically. Ff. 68b-69a appear to be taken from a different MS, being written on different paper, in a completely different hand (neat, tiny, naskh heavily influenced by nasta’liq). From f. 69b, the first hand returns to copy the text. Then the second hand completed ff. 82-105.
Marginalia: The copy has been collated with the exemplar. The copyist has entered many corrections in the margins (frequently marked with صح).
