Summary of Contents: مقالات شیم ركن الدين علاء الدوله سمنانی Discourses of Shaykh Ruknu'd-Din 'Ala'u'd-Dawla of Simnán (d. 736/1335-6),
beginning abruptly after a brief doxology: ... وبعده بدانکه این فواید چندست که شیخ ركن الحق والدين علاء الدوله سمنانی قدس الله
سره میفرمود و امیر اقبال مینوشته اند و بعضی از آن اینست والسّلام على من اتبع الهدى Each discourse is preceded by the word Majlis, or Majlis-i-digar in red letters,
and the person to whom it was addressed is usually indicated, e.g.: قدس سره شیخ علی مصری را پیش خود نشانده بود و از هر نوع كلمات
و حضرت شیخ
میفرمود الخ In the second Majlis (ff. 2a-3a) mention is made of "Shaykh Şadru'd-Din who
is in Ardabil"; in another (f. 34a) of Shaykh Sa'du'd-Din Hamawi; in another
(f. 37a) of Shaykh Muhyi'd-Din Ibnu'l-'Arabí, etc. The discourses were collected
and reduced to writing by Iqbál Sháh of Sístán. The MS., which came from the library of the late Sir A. Houtum-Schindler,
formerly belonged to Prince Farhád Mirzá Mu'tamadu'd-Dawla, who bestowed it
in Rabé 11, 1286/July-Aug., 1869, on a certain Aqi Abdi. It comprises 98 ff. of
14'7 x 8 c. and 14 ll., and is written throughout in a small, neat, good and clear
ta'liq with rubrications; no date or colophon.
