Contents
1 copy of Laṭā’if al-lughāt by ‘Abd al-Laṭīf ibn ‘Abd Allāh al-‘Abbāsī
A glossary of the Masnavī-’i ma‘navī, by Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī (d. 672/1273). The work was compiled by ‘Abd al-Laṭīf ibn ‘Abd Allāh al-‘Abbāsī, also known as Kabīrīyah Gujarātī (d. 1048 or 1049/1638 or 1639). It deals with all the words in the Masnavī that were not in his time used in everyday Persian, listing them in alphabetical order by the first and last letters.
‘Abd al-Laṭīf al-‘Abbāsī, who also produced a revised and annotated edition of the Masnavī and a commentary on the difficult passages, took twelve years to compose the glossary, in which he was assisted by Mawlānā Ibrāhīm Dihlavī.
Other contents: f. 1r-2r, passages from a work on grammar and the usage of certain words; 2r and 2v, ownership seal; f. 222r-225, miscellaneous verses, etc.; 22v, tables of stations of the moon, names of Iranian months, etc.
