Summary of Contents: Ātashkadah is one of the most renowned memoirs of the Persian poets of the 18th century that was compiled by Āzar Bīgdilī between 1760-1779. This memoir includes biographies and samples of works of c.850 poets. Ātashkadah consists of an introduction and two 'majmar' [censers]. The introduction contains the history of Iran from the Afghan Invasion to the government of Karim Khan Zand. The first 'censer' is made of three 'akhgar' [sparks], eleven 'sharārah' [flares], two 'shuʿāʿ' [gleams], and one 'furūgh' [blaze], and includes biographies and poetry of poets from Iran, Turan and India. The second 'censer' has two 'partaw' [rays], and includes biographies and poetry of Āzar Bīgdilī and poets contemporary to him.

Incipit: بسمله، در طوف حرم دیدم دی مغبچه میگفت / کین خانه به این خوبی آتشکده بایستی. فروغ آتشکده دل و زبان اخگر زبان سپاس قدیمی است
Explicit: در غصۀ روی تو خورشید را اختیار از چیست / تهی ز شخص تو ایوان فلک دو تا از چیست.
Colophon: تمام شد. در تاریخ یوم سه‌شنبه ماه رجب‌المرجب در مدرسه چهارباغ دارالسلطنه اصفهان در حضور جمعی از دوستان و اربابان خط و کمال و خطوط تحریر شد. هرگاه سهو و نسیان و غلط واقع شده باشد التماس است تا در اصلاح او پردازد و چشم از عیوب کاتب پوشند و در حک و اصلاحش کوشند و بکرم خود قبول فرموده عفو نموده باشند ان شاءالله تعالی در سنه ۱۲۴۸.

Binding

Lacquer painted 15 × 25 cm, front + back cover, lacquer+lacquer, floriated. Cloth pasted on the front cover and damage to the external lacquer paint. Spine mending by black leather.
