Summary of Contents: Ādāb al-baḥs̱ is a general name for a range of books on logic in Arabic and Persian that Muslim scholars have written under the subject of argument methods. The purpose of writing such books was to educate researchers, teachers, and speakers to base statements of their compositions or discussions on strong logical foundations.

The author of this copy is unknown. He has organized his work in 6 'lessons' [sections]: 1. Aqsām al-munāẓarat al-vāqiʿah, 2. Aḥvāl al-manʿ, 3. Aḥvāl al-muʿāriz̤ah, 4. Aḥvāl-i aqsām al-munāẓarat al-maẕkūrah, 5. al-Munāẓarat al-vāqiʿah fī al-taʿrīfāt, 6. Maʿnī al-ẕāt va al-ʿarz̤iyāt.

Incipit: بسمله، الحمد لمن علمنا علم المناظره مع المخالفین بادله النقل و البرهان… و بعد فهذه سطور فی حل تنبیهات شریفه شریفیه واقعه فی قواعد علم آداب البحث و اصطلاحاته احررها شفقه علی الطالبین للمسایل… اعلم ایها الطالب ان هذه الرساله مشتمله علی سته تنبیهات… الاوّل فی اقسام المناظره الواقعه… الثانی فی احوال المنع و الثالث فی احوال المعارضه الرابع فی احوال اقسام المناظره المذکوره… والخامس فی المناظره الواقعه فی التعریفات والسادس فی معنی الذات و العرضیات…

Explicit: … اشاره الی هذا التحقیق فانه غایه التحقیق فی المرام والله الموفق للانام و بیده ازمه الفیض و الالهام هذا… اوردنا اتمامه و نهایه ما قصدنا اختتامه فالحمد للغنی علی ما قصدنا و الموفق لما اردنا. تم یوم الاثنین فی احدی و عشرین من شهر ذیقعده الحرام سنه ۹۴۱ من هجره النبویه علیه التحیه و علیه السلام.

Additions: Stamp on f. 1a: square-shaped and belonging to the donor. Stamp monogram is illegible and only these words can be read: بعهد سلطان … الوقف … عبدالله… . On ff. 1-2: a Hadith quoted from the prophet of Islam; note on the donation of the book on 29 Rajab [1]139 AH. in the city of Qazvin. First two folios are stuck to each other, and openning comments are removed.
