Combination of five different works dealing with 1) Shāfi’ī law, 2) history of the Rasūlī dynasty of Yemen, 3) grammar, 4) ‘arūḍ, and 5) rhyme. - Arranged in seven columns; 1, 3, 5, 7 (in red) to be read vertically, and 2, 4, 6 (in black) to be read horizontally. Badly water stained
Incipit: الحمد لله ولي الحمد ومستحقه الذى لا يقوم بحمده احد (١) من خلقه ... اعلم ان العلم مصباح تستضيء به الامة قد حمده الله واثنى عليه واشرف ما استفتح من العلوم ... علم الفقه الحمد لله حق حمده ... وبعد فهذه نبذة جمعتها طرفه (٢) اخترعتها مورخا دوله ايمة الزمن وعظما ملوك الشام ... واليمن بنى الرسول افضل ملوك الارض بحمد الله استفتح ... وبعد فاقول الكلام ثلثة اشياء (٣) وهى اسم وفعل وحرف والاسم يعرف بدخول الالف واللام ... والاضافة والاخبار عنه وجره امر بتاليف هذا الكتاب وجمعه مولانا السلطان الملك (٤) الاشرف اسماعيل بن العباس ... وبعد فهذا الكتاب ... الفته في العروض اوله بحر الطويل وهو فعولن الحمد لله الذى علم الانسان ما لم يعلم ... وبعد (٥) فينبغي للناظر في علم القوافي ان يعرف المقيد والمطلق ... ثم المردف منها ثم الموسس والوصل والخروج
