Letter in Persian, shikastah, with authority of Moghul Emperor Shah 'Alam II (1759-1806) from Muhammad 'Ali Khan, 'the Nabob of Arcot', ruler of the Carnatic (AH1162/AD1749-AH1210/AD1795)], referring to Qutb ad-Daulah Bahadur, dated AH1178/AD1764. Large seal impression carries name of emperor and nabob. There are also about thirty lines of a south Indian script. [Possibly connected with Sir J. Murray MacGregor]. This letter refers to an amount gold that they will receive by renting a land for three years. The amount of the gold that they will receive is based on the currency value at Bazar karafieh.
