MS. Turk. e. 60 (Bodleian Library, Oxford University)
Oriental Manuscripts
Contents
Language(s): Chaghatay with one passage in Persian and some notes in Arabic
This manuscript containts a large portion of the divan of Mašrab, but appears to be missing some poems.
Note that the colophon (that is, the scribe's note about the time of completion) does not come at the end of the full text, suggesting that the scribe decided to add more poems from the divan of Mašrab after the initial set on the preceding pages.
References
This is only the first few bayts of this work, after which come copious notes in a much less well-trained hand, among which attempts to repeat some of these lines.
References
A gap in this text filled with notes in Arabic and Chaghatay can be observed on the top two thirds of folio 112b, but the same mukhammas clearly continues on the next folio, as evidenced not only by the similary in hand but in the structure of the text. The text continues into the left margins on each page except folio 112b. Folio 113a contains a separate colophon-like passage in a seemingly different hand at the bottom of that page which reads (with several misspellings): تاءریخقه بر مینک ایکی یوز خرکوش ییلی جما جمادل اوَّل آینینک اون آلتهسیدور تمام بولدی. Whether this refers to the date of completion of this passage is uncertain.
References
This section is poorly written, with many spelling errors. It is difficult to ascertain if they were all written at the same time, or indeed by the same hand, but they are distinct in every way from the intervening folio 115, which is a different size, paper, hand, and subject matter altogether.
References
This folio does not seem to have originally belonged to this manuscript and appears to have been inserted during rebinding.
