A Turkish calendar for AH 850=AD 1446/1447, dedicated to the sixth Ottoman Sulṭān, Murād II bin Muḥammed bin Bāyazīd Ḫān bin Murād Ḫān bin Orḫān bin ʿOs̠mān (AH 824-855=AD 1421-1451), see the vignette on fol. 1a and the preface on fol. 1b. It contains chronological tables of the prophets, the Khalifs and the various contemporary and subsequent dynasties down to the ʿOs̠māni rulers and the reign of Murād II, on ff. 1b-3a; lists of İmāms, Ḥākims, Ḫāns, together with a short enumeration of famous accidents, earthquakes, etc., on fol. 3b; lists of the old Persian kings, on fol. 4a; and an endless number of astronomical and astrological tables, some for the interpretation of dreams (on ff. 5b and 6a), others illustrating the art of اختیارات or the selection of good and bad days, tables of life and death, prophecies for the new year, enumeration of forthcoming phenomena in heaven and earth, weather-tables, tables of the different phases of the moon and other planets, etc. Presented by Robert Huntington, Merton College, 1680.
